July All Nippon Airways (ANA) took delivery of the first of four Bombardier Q400s, which will be flown by its subsidiary All Nippon Network. 07-29-2003. Eagle Aviation, based in St. Nazaire, France, leased an A310-204 powered by CF6-80C2-A2 engines from International Lease Finance Corp. 07-29-2003. Shandong Airlines leased two B-737-300s powered by CFM56-3C1 engines from Boullioun Aviation Services. The carrier now flies 11 B-737s. 07-29-2003. Southwest took delivery of another B-737-700, the seventh of this year. The airline now has 26 B-737-200s, 194 B-737-300s, 25 B-737-500s, and 136 B-737-700s. The airline plans to receive 10 more 737-700s this year while retiring five of its 200s. 07-28-2003. China Airlines took delivery of its 15th B-747-400 freighter. The airline expects two more -400 freighters this year. Besides its 15 -400 cargo airplanes, the airline has one B-747-200F. 07-26-2003. Frontier Airlines took delivery of the first of five A318s powered by CFM-56 engines. 07-26-2003. Southwest converted its remaining nine B-737-700 options for 2004 into firm orders. It also exercised six 2005 options for accelerated delivery in 2004 and accelerated the firm delivery of two 2005 aircraft to 2004. The changes bring Southwest’s current 2004 firm orders to 42 aircraft. 07-23-2003. Singapore Aircraft Leasing Enterprise (SALE) agreed to a sale and leaseback deal with easyJet for six B-737-700s. 07-22-2003. Spain’s Air Plus Comet leased a used A310-300 from International Lease Finance Corp. The aircraft is powered by PW4156A engines. 07-22-2003. Thomas Cook Group will dispose of eight B-757-300s flown by Condor. 07-20-2003. Air China took delivery of its first of eight A319s powered by IAE V2500 engines. 07-18-2003. Nouvelair leased a CFM56-powered A320-200 through Debis AirFinance, which acted on behalf of AerCo Ltd. 07-17-2003. Shanghai Airlines took delivery of a used B-767-300ER, powered by PW4060 engines from International Lease Finance Corp. 07-17-2003. Dragonair has deferred the delivery of two A321s scheduled for June and August to the end of 2003. Two A320s due for delivery in 2004 will be delayed until 2005. 07-16-2003. Islandsflug took delivery of a second A300C4-600R and placed it on operating lease with Debis AirFinance. 07-15-2003. Tampa Airlines acquired a fifth DC-8-71F. 07-15-2003. Continental has deferred deliveries of 36 B-737s, originally scheduled for 2005, 2006 and 2007, until at least 2008. It is considering deferring 11 B-757-300s as well. The airline will take four B-737-800s in the fourth quarter of this year and 12 B-737-800s in 2004, however. It plans to retire 19 MD-80s and B-737-300s later this year, and 15 more in 2004, as the new aircraft are delivered. 07-15-2003. Royal Air Maroc took delivery of a new B-737-800; the first of 20 additional 737s the carrier will receive. 07-11-2003. LTU International Airways took delivery of its last A321-200 on order from Airbus. The airline now has an all-Airbus fleet of 11 A320-200s, three A321-200s, three A330-300s and seven A330-200s. 07-11-2003. Debis AirFinance purchased a new A319-100 and placed it on operating lease with TACA International Airlines. 07-11-2003. Frontier Airlines took delivery of its19th A319. The aircraft will be leased from General Electric Capital Aviation Services (GECAS). Frontier's fleet now consists of 16 737-300s, three 737-200s and 19 Airbus A319s. 07-10-2003. Spanish-based Air Plus Comet became the first B-737-300SP blended winglet operator in the world when it received the aircraft on lease from Aircraft Leasing Management, on June 8. Legacy business jets after it suddenly stopped service last
month between Chicago Midway and Oman Air took delivery of a B-737-800. The aircraft is the first of a five-plane order from Boeing. 7-06-2003. Air Luxor leased an A330-300 powered by PW4168 engines, through International Lease Finance Corp. (ILFC). The aircraft was formerly operated by Skyservice Canada. 07-06-2003. Southwest took delivery of another B-737-700. The airline has 12 more 737-700 deliveries scheduled for this year. 07-06-2003. China Airlines took delivery of its sixth A340-300 in a sale and lease-back deal with Chailease Finance, an affiliate of China Trust Group in Taiwan. 07-06-2003. Hooters Air added its first B-737-300 to its fleet, which now consists of three aircraft. 07-03-2003. Swiss International Airlines took delivery of its first A340-300, the first of seven deliveries slated for this year. The aircraft is powered by CFM56-5C4 engines. 07-03-2003. AirTran contracted with Boeing for 100 new B-737-700s and B-737-800s, 50 of which are firm orders and the rest options. The airline also ordered up to 10 B-717s, which could be increased to as many as 14. The first delivery, which is scheduled for June 2004, will be a 737-700 with additional aircraft coming at an approximate rate of one per month into 2008. The 700s can be changed to 800s, if Air Tran chooses, with a 15-month notice to Boeing. The 737s will be powered by CFM56-7B engines. 07-02-2003. Estonian
Air leased a fourth B-737-500
from ILFC, increasing its 737-500
fleet to four. 07-01-2003. All Nippon Airways has confirmed it will purchase 45 CFM56-7-powered B-737-700s from Boeing. The airline first announced the order in April. The purchase means that ANA Group’s present narrowbody fleet of 26 A320s, two 737-400s and 25 737-500s will be replaced with the 737-700s. 07-01-2003.
