August Bluebird Cargo, based in Iceland, plans to lease three B-737-300Fs from GE Capital Aviation Services, starting in April 2004. 08-30-2003. International Lease Finance Corporation leased a used B-767-300ER, powered by PW4060 engines, to Air China. 08-30-2003. Frankfurt-based Aero Lloyd leased a new V527-A5-powered A320-200 from Boullioun Aviation Services. The carrier now has 10 A320s and 11 A321s in its fleet. 08-25-2003. Luxair now has three B-737-700s with blended winglets on order. The aircraft will replace older B-737-400s and B-737-500s. 08-19-2003. Air Botnia signed a long-term operating lease with BAE Systems for two new RJ85s and two new RJ100s with deliveries scheduled for November. The airline already flies five RJ85s. 08-14-2003. Boullioun Aviation Services will deliver two leased CFM56-7-powered B-737-800s to Sterling. The first will be delivered this fall and the second in early 2004. 08-14-2003. Singapore Airlines has completed a sale and leaseback of a B-747-400 with Tarbenian Leasing Ltd. 08-14-2003. GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) leased two B-737-800s to Shenzhen Airlines of China. 08-14-2003. Thai Airways finalized an earlier order for five A340-600s and three A340-500s. Deliveries of the Trent 500-powered aircraft will begin in 2005. 08-10-2003. Sweden’s Novair plans to lease two new A321-200s from International Lease Finance Corp. in April and May 2004. The aircraft will be powered by IAE V2533-A5s. 08-07-2003. Frontier signed a letter of intent with Airbus to acquire 15 additional A319s, with purchase rights for up to another 23. In addition, the airline said it intends to lease as many as 14 more A319s over the next five years. The first A319 will be delivered in 2004 with subsequent deliveries through 2008. 08-04-2003. Singapore Aircraft Leasing Enterprise (SALE) will lease an A319 to Minneapolis-based Blue Moon Aviation for use on charter flights. Jordan Aviation will lease an A310-200, and Ukraine’s UM Air will lease an A320 from SALE. 08-03-2003. China Eastern Airlines took delivery of its first of five A340-600s from Airbus. Another two A340-600s and seven A320s will join the airline's fleet this year, and two A340-600s are scheduled for delivery in 2004. 08-03-2003.
