Eurocontrol is promoting "a broader awareness" of WAM (wide
area multilateration) technology for ATC surveillance, pointing to its
relatively low cost and good performance.
Airservices Australia Commissioning Five More ADS-B Stations
Airservices Australia is
about to commission five new ADS-B (automatic dependent surveillance -
broadcast) ground stations over in Western Australia and the Northern Territory,
which will fill in much of its continental coverage of upper airspace.
UAE Buys QinetiQ-COMSOFT ADS-B Ground Station
The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA)
of the United Arab Emirates has purchased a COMSOFT Quadrant ADS-B (automatic
dependent surveillance-broadcast) air traffic surveillance ground station as
part of its current air traffic control automation system upgrade. COMSOFT is
QinetiQ's ADS-B development, manufacturing and marketing partner.
