L-3 Communications Expanding Technology Base via Acquisitions
L-3 Communications has acquired Geneva Aerospace, a provider of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology, and has
agreed to acquire Global Communications Solutions (GCS), which supplies
portable satellite communications equipment and products.

WestJet Airlines has entered into a new service agreement with ARINC Managed Services (AMS) to consolidate and

VDLM2 Is Fully Operational In Central Mexico
A VDLM2 (VHF digital link
mode 2) datalink system is now fully operational in Central Mexico. Testing
of the system, which was deployed by ARINC and Mexico's aviation authority
SENEAM near Mexico City, was completed in late 2006.

Continental Selects Rockwell Collins' Avionics Suite for New Boeings
Continental Airlines has selected a suite of Rockwell Collins' avionics for the 103 B-737NGs and two
B-777s it has on order, including an MMR (multimode receiver) that incorporates GLS (GPS landing system) and LAAS (local area augmentation
system) capabilities.
