Japan Airlines selected Thales TopSeries IFE (in-flight entertainment) system for its new B-787s that will begin arriving in mid 2008.

GB Airways to launch Rockwell Collins dPAVES IFE
GB Airways will be the launch customer for Rockwell Collins' new IFE (in-flight entertainment) system.  The British Airways' low-cost franchise selected the system for seven A320 Family aircraft, along with options for seven more.  Hardware deliveries will begin this coming October.

 

American and TDG Aerospace Develop Safety Device for B-757 Fuel Tank
American Airlines and its partner, TDG Aerospace, have developed a kit that allows an airline to eliminate 1,000 pounds of fuel, which is presently required to be carried in the center fuel tanks of B-757-200s and 300s, as a precaution against a spark leading to an explosion.

NTSB Chair: Consider Multiple Ways to Prevent Runway Collisions
U.S. National Transportation Safety Board Chairman Mark V. Rosenker told a recent gathering of airport executives that "prompt action is needed" to prevent runway collisions that would creatively use "different combinations of sensors, processors, and warning methods tailored to the requirements of each situation."

Latvijas Gaisa Satiksme (LGS) has selected Era to provide a wide-area surveillance system for the airspace surrounding the Riga International Airport.   In 2005, the airport selected Era to track aircraft, as well as vehicles, on the airport's surface.
