Telenor Satellite Services Previews New Secure Networking Filter
Telenor Satellite
Services, a subsidiary of Telenor of Norway, is previewing "the first in a
series of secure networking value added services to enable users to more
effectively monitor and filter security attacks and unwanted Internet
content over satellite communications."
Air Greenland Uses Blue Sky Network to Track and Communicate With Fleet
Air Greenland has
deployed Blue Sky Network's equipment on 17 of its rotor and fixed-wing
aircraft to provide a near real-time GPS mapping of their location and give
its pilots a live voice channel when they're flying in remote, unpopulated
regions.

Enstrom Will Use Chelton IFIS on Its 480B Helicopter
Enstrom Helicopter has
selected Chelton Flight Systems to supply the EFIS (electronic flight
instrument system) for its Model 480B turbine helicopter.
CMC Electronics EVS Sensor Installed on AgustaWestland AW139
Edwards & Associates, a
subsidiary of Bell Helicopter, has installed CMC Electronics' EVS (enhanced
vision system) sensor on an Agusta Westland AW-139 helicopter for a
corporate customer.
Chelton Flight Systems to Use Spectralux WAAS Sensor
Chelton Flight Systems has selected Spectralux Corporation's GPS Class Beta
3 sensor for use in a new GPS WAAS (wide area augmentation system) receiver.
NATS to Use Sensis Multilateration Surveillance for North Sea Helicopters
NATS, formerly the U.K.'s National Air Traffic
Services, awarded Sensis Corporation a contract to provide WAM (wide-area
multilateration) surveillance for helicopters that support oil and gas
drilling operations in the North Sea.
Raytheon Team Proposes Single ADS-B Frequency for U.S.
Raytheon is proposing
that the FAA adopt a single international frequency standard for ADS-B
(automatic dependent surveillance) in order to reduce equipment costs.
AirCell Satcom Installed in First Piaggio Avanti II
Jet Works Air Center has
completed the first installation of an AirCell satcom system on a Piaggio
Avanti II via a new FAA STC (supplemental type certificate) written by Jet
Works and owned by Piaggio America, Inc.
Three Russian Airlines Using Lufthansa Systems' FMS Data
Russia's Sky Express,
Vladivostok Air and AirBridge Cargo have opted to use Lufthansa System's FMS
(flight management system) database.
Horizon Air Using Gryphyn Works Web-Based Maintenance for GSE
Gryphyn Works says
Horizon Air is now using its Web-based GSE (ground-support equipment)

Eclipse Revises List of Avionics Suppliers on VLJ
Eclipse Aviation is
partnering with Innovative Solutions & Support, Inc. (IS&S), Chelton Flight
Systems, Garmin International, Honeywell, and PS Engineering, Inc. to
produce a "next-generation" avionics system for its Eclipse 500 VLJ (very
light jet).
Thales Chooses Barco CDMU for Sikorsky S-76D TopDeck Avionics
Barco will supply an
advanced CDMS (control display and management system) for its new Thales TopDeck avionics suite that will debut on Sikorsky next- generation S-76D
civil helicopter. The first suite using Barco's CDMS will be delivered
before the end of this year.
Skybus Airlines Selects ACSS TCAS/TAWS for New A319s
Skybus Airlines has
selected ACSS to supply the TCAS (traffic alert and collision avoidance
system), TAWS (terrain awareness and warning system) and datalink
transponder, for its 65 new A319s that will start arriving in the middle of
this year.
