Era Receives another Radar Type-Certification
The Slovak Republic has issued a type certification to Era Corporation for its
next-generation radar surveillance system, following six months of laboratory
and field testing.

FAA's ATO COO Reviews Use of Technology to Improve Runway Safety
Testifying before the House Subcommittee on Aviation on February 13th,
Hank Krakowski, the FAA's Air Traffic Organization's chief operating officer,
reviewed the agency's major initiatives to improve runway safety, including the
use of new technology.
Swift Aviation Group to Establish Aviation Safety Program
Swift Aviation Group, an Arizona FBO (fixed base operator) and aircraft charter
operator intends to establish an internal FAA ASAP (aviation safety action
program) that will provide extensive safety reporting tools to its operations,
maintenance and flight crew personnel. |

Airbus to Certify ACSS T3CAS on All Air Transport Models
Airbus will certify ACSS's T3CAS surveillance system on all of its
single-aisle and long range models from A318s to A340-500s and 600s.
T3CAS combines TCAS (traffic alert collision avoidance)
technology with TAWS (terrain awareness warning system) capability and a Mode-S
transponder into a single LRU (line replaceable unit). |

FAA Certifies Universal Avionics WAAS-FMS on Bombardier CL-600 Series
The FAA has issued a Part 25 STC (supplemental type certificate) to Universal
Avionics Systems for its new FMSs (flight management systems) enabled for WAAS
and SBAS (wide area and space-based augmentation systems) on Bombardier CL-600s,
CL-601s and CL-601-3Rs. |

Avionica Releases Iridium Portal Technology Source Code
Avionica has released its Iridium Portal product source code to the aviation
community, including OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) and operators. The
company made the announcement at last month's ARINC Datalink Users Forum in San Diego.
Avionica Satcom Certified for B-757s and B-767s
The FAA has granted STCs (supplemental type certificates) to Avionics Support Group
(ASG) to install Avionica's Iridium-based voice and data satcom system on B-757s and 767s. |

Signature Flight Support Contracts For PASSUR FBO System
Signature Flight Support has contracted for PASSUR's FBO (fixed base operator)
system, largely to increase its ability to track arrivals and departures.
Two More Operators Select SkyTrac Satcom and Flight Following
Indonesia Air Transport (IAT) and Africa-based Everett Aviation are equipping
their fleets with SkyTrac's satcom (satellite communications) and flight following technology.
Midwest Airlines to Use Lockheed Martin Flight Planning System
Midwest Airlines will use flight planning technology from Lockheed Martin and
its teammate, Vienna-based Flugwerkzeuge Aviation Software. |

Cessna Aircraft selects Rockwell Collins Pro Line Fusion for Citation Columbus
Cessna will use Rockwell Collins' Pro Line Fusion avionics on its new Citation
Columbus - expected in 2014 - that will include a synthetic vision depiction of
terrain and obstacles as standard, plus a HUD (head-up display), enhanced
vision, CPDLC (controller-pilot data link communication), and a SMS (surface
management system) as options.

Airbus Sees Demand for 24,300 new Aircraft over Next 20 Years
Airbus sees a demand for about 24,300 new passenger and freighter aircraft between now
and 2026, creating an average annual delivery rate of 1,215 aircraft; up from
its 2007 forecast of 1,130 average deliveries per year.
