PARC Chairman Laments Slow Progress of RNP Approach Approvals
Dave Nakamura, the chairman of the FAA's Performance-Based Operations Aviation Rulemaking Committee (PARC), told the FAA's recent New Technologies Workshop that the number of RNP (required navigation performance) SAAAR (special aircrew and aircraft authorization required) operations and criteria aren't meeting expectations.

Eleven European Airlines Preparing for ADS-B Trial
Eleven European airlines will ask the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) to approve the airworthiness of their existing ADS-B (automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast) installations in preparation for their participation in Eurocontrol's CASCADE ADS-B and datalink program.

 

IS&S Receives STC for B-757 Display System
The FAA has issued a STC (supplemental type certification) to Innovative Solutions & Support (IS&S) for a more comprehensive B-757 flat panel display system.

EASA Approves Shadin's RVSM STC for Several Citation Models
The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has approved Shadin Avionics' STC (supplemental type certificate) for the RVSM (reduced vertical separation minima) air data system it developed for Cessna Citation 500s, 550s, S550s, and 560s.
