Who Reads Flt Tech Online?

Flt Tech Online (FTO) attracts readers from throughout the aviation industry including airlines, avionics vendors, aircraft OEMs, flight training organizations, ATM service providers and private aircraft operators.  No matter what segment of the aviation industry these readers come from they all have one thing in common.  They are all interested in technology and the new procedures developed to exploit that technology.  Figure 1 below contains a breakdown of FTO subscribers by segment.

Organizations involved in the development of new technology and operational procedures such as Mitre, Mitre–CAASD, NASA, DOT-Volpe, and John Hopkins University.

Tech Suppliers

Organizations involved in the development and sale of new technology.  This spans a large group from Rockwell Collins and Honeywell to Jeppesen and Chelton Flight Systems.  It also includes ATM (air traffic management) suppliers such as Lockheed Martin, Raytheon and Thales ATM.

Breakdown of Flt Tech Online Readership by Region and Individual Country

Figure 2 represents FTO readership by region.  While the majority of FTO readers are in North America, our international readership continues to grow.

Flt Tech Online Readership is Growing

Since the beginning of 2006, the number of FTO subscribers has grown 65% from 2,548 to 4,228 (as of the end of March 2007).  (Figure 3)

And the number of Flt Tech Online subscribers continues to grow.  Based on the growth rate over the last quarter, the number of registered subscribers should be approaching 4,800 by the end of September 2007.  (Figure 4)

What Do Our Subscribers Think About Flt Tech Online?

The above statistics represent the number of subscribers who receive the Flt Tech Online Weekly News Summary via e-mail each week.  But what do those readers think of FTO?  In a recent (December 2006) reader survey 82% of our readers said that they read the Weekly News Summary each week.  (Figure 5)

Eighty-eight percent of Flt Tech Online subscribers rate the quality of the news and information found in FTO as very good or excellent.  (Figure 6)

Seventy-seven percent of Flt Tech Online subscribers rate the quality of the layout of the Weekly News Summary as very good or excellent.  (Figure 7)

In addition to the more than 4,200+ people who receive Flt Tech Online via email each week, we are also receiving  1,500 unique visitors on the Flt Tech Online Website each day, resulting in 40,000 to 45,000 unique users a month, and growing.
