NGRAIN
and CAE
Join to
Improve
Training,
Mission
Preparation
and
Procurement
CAE and
NGRAIN
have
partnered
to
integrate
NGRAIN's
interactive
3D
simulation
technology
and
CAE's
PC-based
training
software
to
improve
training,
and
other
functions,
for
military
and
other
security
organizations.
NGRAIN's
3D
visualization
software
will be
integrated
with
CAE's
STRIVE
as part
of a
high-fidelity
UAV
(unmanned
aerial
vehicle)
simulator
developed
by CAE.
(STRIVE
helps
shorten
development
cycles
by
allowing
developers
to focus
on
building
models
without
the
concern
for how
the
models
communicate,
interact,
and
perform
in
real-time.
It also
allows
existing
libraries
of
models
and
software
to be
reused
to the
same
affect.)
The
companies
see the
UAV
simulator
as a
representative
research
test bed
that
uses
simulation
and
modeling
for
acquisition,
mission
requirements,
and
training. And they
see the
combination
of CAE
STRIVE
and NGRAIN’s
3D
software
as a way
for end
users to
test,
evaluate
and
prototype
new
systems
long
before a
new
system
is
fielded.
In
addition,
NGRAIN's
Product
Knowledge
Management will
be
integrated
with a
CAE
Simfinity
C-130
integrated
procedures
trainer,
which
uses the
same
simulation
software
found on
CAE's
full
mission
simulators.
(Product
Knowledge
Management
enables
users to
easily
embed
interactive
"3D
knowledge
objects"
into
existing
courseware
created
with
Microsoft
Word or
PowerPoint.) 12-13-2004.
