Lufthansa Purchases E&S Visual System for 310 Simulator
Lufthansa Flight Training (LFT) purchased an Evans & Sutherland visual system for an upgrade to its A310 full flight simulator in Berlin.
Lufthansa's new system includes an EP-1000CT image generator and three ESCP-2000 projectors, and will replace existing equipment. Installation and certification should be completed during the first quarter of 2005.
Including the A310, five full-flight simulators at LFT's Berlin training center are being equipped with EP-1000CTs, two of which, a B-737-300 and an A320, already have received Joint Aviation Authority Level D certification. LFT has also purchased EP-1000CTs to upgrade an A340 and a B-737-800 simulator.
E & S says its EP-1000CT presents seamless, high-resolution, textured 3D images of detailed airport scenes and complex terrain from a whole-earth database, along with advanced weather effects. 09-03-2004.
