RM Rocade Offering Airlines New Application to Analyze Disruption
Costs
RM Rocade has joined
forces with CEFIS, a London-based company, to offer an integrated
tool to help airlines understand the costs associated with
flight disruptions and schedule adjustments.
CEFIS has developed
software that links the actual costs of operational anomalies such
as delays, cancellations, diversions, and aircraft substitutions,
to their root causes, such as technical problems, air traffic
control, weather and lack of a qualified crew.
The two companies believe
the CEFIS system can significantly improve operational analysis
and planning by providing more detailed information about these
problems, which currently is often incomplete or even non-existent
after the occurrence. Besides providing operational managers more
insight into these events, the system includes a decision support
tool which can help managers do what-if analysis to help formulate
better tactical and strategic responses to future irregular
operations.
According to RM Rocade,
CEFIS can facilitate the integration of a wide variety of airline
data across a full range of data storage technologies. Presently, CEFIS can automatically import SSIM files, an industry-standard
source of up-to-date schedule information, which can be used along
with RM Rocade’s operations control (ROC) data. 03-08-2004.
