Lockheed Martin and Metron Aviation Team on CDM Tools
Lockheed Martin and Metron
Aviation announced at Jane's 14th Annual Air Traffic Control
Maastricht Conference that they will jointly offer an integrated
family of CDM (collaborative decision-making) products to
airlines, airports and air traffic service providers.
Lockheed Martin will bring
its new FltWinds/CDM family of flight following products to the
venture – including its SPEAR flight analytical application –
which will be integrated with Metron’s Airport Flow Tool suite of
products.
Lockheed Martin's
FltWinds (flight and
weather information and decision support) system helps flight
dispatchers monitor flights and pertinent weather with
comprehensive graphical mapping and display tools, and automatic
alerting to changing conditions. Lockheed’s SPEAR performance
evaluation and analytical tool, is used by airline operations
managers to use detailed past flight information to make better
future decisions.
Metron’s Airport Flow Tool
helps operational managers develop tactical responses to changes
in airport demand and capacity in real-time. The tool displays
specific flight information, airport arrival and departure rates,
arrival and departure slots, and airport restrictions, and allows
“what-if” evaluations in a matter of seconds. It also facilitates
collaboration and distributed decision making by allowing several
different users to view the same information simultaneously.
