Bangkok Airways Adding ARINC's Ops Control
Messaging Functions to Datalink
Bangkok Airways is
using ARINC's HF (high frequency) and VHF (very high frequency) datalink
communications and adding several operational control services to improve
its operational control functions.
ARINC's
OpCenter will give Bangkok's air crews, dispatchers, and other
authorized personnel the ability to use a simple, intuitive web-based
interface to send, receive, and manage free-text or preformatted
aeronautical operational control (AOC) and other messages from anywhere
Internet access is available – including the cockpit. In addition, ARINC is
integrating Bangkok's OpCenter system with the airline's existing engine
monitoring, fault reporting, and flight planning systems to deliver
operational information via ARINC's
GlobalLink VHF and HF networks.
The airline will also use
ARINC's
graphic/text weather service (G/TWS) for weather data, and
digital ATIS (D-ATIS) to give its pilots datalinked airport information
via ACARS (airline communications and reporting system). 11-18-2004.
