ARINC Launches New Managed Services Unit
ARINC has formed an independent business unit to provide "mission-critical" contract management, operations and maintenance services for government and private industry. The new company, ARINC Managed Services (AMS), will establish its own headquarters and will operate separately, but will be wholly owned by its parent.
James L. Martin, who was formerly the senior director of ARINC's Global Maintenance Services, will head the new company, and will report to Edward H. Montgomery, ARINC's executive vice president and general manager.
The new company plans to offer contracted services similar to the radio services it has provided for decades to the FAA, and the range of technical services it has provided other customers worldwide.
"Companies and agencies with mission-critical operations have been reluctant to outsource because of the high skill levels required," Martin stated. "We now offer those organizations a low-risk, high-reliability path to outsourcing and all the efficiencies that go with it."
The new company has technical staffs located at 18 global offices, and a network of partnering local companies, coordinated by an operations and call center in Annapolis, Maryland. 07-15-2004.
