US Airways Expanding Use of PASSUR Tools in Ops Control Center
US Airways is expanding its use of Megadata Corporation's PASSUR by contracting for its analytical and
decision support tools designed to improve airspace utilization, fuel management, and diversion management.
The new PASSUR
FlightPerform software will be deployed at US Airways' operations control
center in Pittsburgh, where it will be used to get more accurate predictions of
aircraft hold times, real-time decision support to mitigate diversions, and
continuing real-time evaluation of airport and airspace utilization.
Megadata says some of these benefits are possible because of US Airways' access to the PASSUR international
network of proprietary radar installations, and PASSUR's unique high resolution
True Tracking application, with its 4.6 second update rate. But
FlightPerform's comprehensive view of the airspace activity, including arrival
and departure rates, real-time runway configurations, vectors, and miles-in-trail, as well as its ability to analyze airborne holds in real time,
are also significant contributors. 10-13-2007. |
