UPS to Use Teledyne Controls' Integrated Data Management on B-747-400s

UPS will install Teledyne Controls' iDMU (integrated data management unit) on its new B-747-400 freighters to monitor the condition of their systems and to record in-flight data.

The iDMU is Teledyne Control's latest data management system that delivers increased performance, while significantly reducing the circuit card count, the company says.  It features a user-programmable interface that allows airlines to customize their own ACMS (aircraft condition monitoring system applications) and also integrates the data recording, via a PC Card media, for raw and message data recording, as well as an Ethernet connector for high speed data transfer.  01-13-2007.
