TAAG Angola Getting a Portfolio of ARINC Flight Services
TAAG Angola Airlines has
started using a suite of ARINC datalink and flight support services that
includes graphical weather delivery and message management for its
ground-based operational personnel.
The five-year contract
gives the national airline of Angola the use of ARINC's
GLOBALink VHF, satellite and HF (high frequency) datalink communications
throughout its operational network. TAAG also signed for ARINC's
GTWS (graphic/text weather service) to directly uplink that information
to its flight crews, and OpCenter message management service, which enables
TAAG's dispatchers to send, receive, and manage datalink messages, while
translating datalink code into readable text, thus eliminating the need to
develop proprietary server-based systems to handle these functions.
OpCenter includes a secure email service hosted by ARINC to give crews
reliable ground communications with global access to important operational
messages from any Internet connection. In addition it can host and deliver
PDCs (pre-departure clearances) from air traffic control to requesting
aircraft cockpits via datalink. 04-22-2007. |
