Swift Aviation Group to Establish Aviation Safety Program

Swift Aviation Group, an Arizona FBO (fixed base operator) and aircraft charter operator intends to establish an internal FAA ASAP (aviation safety action program) that will provide extensive safety reporting tools to its operations, maintenance and flight crew personnel.

ASAP is a voluntary program where participants self-report safety problems and take corrective action without being subjected to punishment or discipline.

A majority of the America's major passenger airlines are already enrolled in ASAP, but Swift Air is one of the few charter airlines that has agreed to participate up till now.  02-11-2008.
