Singapore's Changi to Deploy A-SMGCS Developed by HITT and Era
The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) has
selected HITT (Holland Institute of Traffic Technology) of the Netherlands
and Era Corporation of the United States to deploy an A-SMGCS
(advanced-surface management ground control system) at Singapore's Changi
airport.
The Changi A-SMGCS will use
HITT's display and processing system together with Era's
MSS network of multilateration and ADS-B (automatic dependent
surveillance-broadcast) sensors and
SQUID vehicle tracking units.
Era says its MSS has the ability to track all aircraft
and ground vehicles with either today's transponders or tomorrow's ADS-B
technologies. Its multilateration technology provides a more accurate,
cost-effective solution when compared to traditional surface movement
radars, according to Era. 06-01-2007. |
