Several Major U.S. Airports Using FLIR Systems Security Cameras

Several major American airports installed FLIR Systems' thermal and multi-sensor security cameras this year to help secure their perimeters.

The airports, which included Dallas-Ft. Worth, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, and the New York area's Kennedy, LaGuardia, Newark and Teterboro, installed the FLIR cameras as part of the Department of Homeland Security's domestic airport Perimeter Intrusion Detection initiative.

FLIR sees its thermal cameras as particularly well-suited to secure these types of installations because they are able see intruders at night without expensive and intrusive lighting.  12-10-2007.
