SITA's Passenger Technology Being Installed at New Bangkok Airport
SITA says the new
Bangkok International Airport (NBIA), now called Suvarnabhumi, will have
over 600 of its CUTE (common-use terminal equipment) check-in work-stations
when it opens this summer.
Besides an initial order
for 600
CUTE work-stations, SITA's $20-million, five-year contract also
includes its
Passenger Handler common-language check-in and boarding application, and
an initial pilot of 50
CUSS (common-use self-service) kiosks to meet the needs of the
forthcoming A380.
SITA's sub-contract is
with
SAMART Comtech, which is a member of the Airports Systems Integration
Specialists (ASIS) consortium, and is charged with installing and
maintaining the airport's technical equipment. Besides SAMART, ASIS is
comprised of Siemens, ABB, and Satyam Computer Services. 02-10-2006.
