Russ Chew Leaving ATO
Russ Chew announced he is
leaving the FAA's Air Traffic Organization (ATO) where he has served as its
chief operating officer for the last three-and-one-half years.
Mr. Chew was named
ATO
COO on June 10, 2003, after being selected by then-Secretary of Transportation
Norman Mineta. He came to the FAA from American Airlines, where he had been
a pilot and served as a senior operations manager. While at American he was
also a leader in several industry initiatives to modernize air traffic
control and airspace.
He brought a number of
ideas from business to the FAA and its newly formed ATO, including the need
to use rigorous metrics to measure progress. 02-06-2007. |
