Rockwell Collins/Cubic Team to Develop Datalink for Small UAS
The Air Force Research
Laboratory (AFRL) has selected Rockwell Collins to lead the first phase of
an effort to develop a miniature Ku-band common datalink (Mini-CDL) capable
of supporting small unmanned air systems (SUAS).
Rockwell Collins is
teamed with
Cubic Defense Applications to develop the system with assistance from
Softronics. The program's first phase will focus on leveraging new
digital and RF (radio frequency) technologies, including state-of-the-art
system-on-chip modems, to achieve a small, affordable, low-power and
low-weight CDL terminal that can meet the payload restrictions of SUAS
platforms. 02-27-2007. |
