Rockwell Collins and ARINC Reintroduce Broadband Offering
Rockwell Collins and
ARINC have agreed to reintroduce Rockwell Collins's broadband connectivity
offering that will use ARINC's Ku-band satellite broadband network.
The agreement provides
for Rockwell Collins to supply its eXchange airborne hardware and after
sales support, while ARINC Direct will provide its
SKYLink service. ARINC will continue to provide sales and support for
eXchange until the transition to Rockwell Collins is completed.
EXchange provides real time, two-way connectivity to the Internet with
speeds of up to 3.5 Mbps, which when coupled with SKYLink, allows for all of
today's high speed communications' capabilities. SKYLink's service coverage
currently includes North America and Europe, and North Atlantic coverage
will be added soon. ARINC plans to expand SKYLink's international coverage
to the Caribbean and portions of South and Central America as well.
