Rockwell Collins Offering Programmable Switch Panels for Business Jet Cabins

Rockwell Collins is introducing a new line of software-programmable switch panels to provide business-jet passengers more and easier control over their cabin environment.  The new line of switch panels, which will be available in summer of 2008, will also give aircraft manufacturers a standard part that can serve multiple applications.

The new switch panels will allow passengers to access and control cabin services by selecting icons to access and control a full range of Rockwell Collins' electronic cabin amenities, services and environmental conditions.

The Cedar Rapids-based company says it's also developing an intuitive, easy-to-use configuration tool for customizing the panels as part of a total aircraft interior specification that will have a library of templates for various standard aircraft arrangements.  09-18-2007.
