RTCA Annual Symposium Coming in May

RTCA's Annual Symposium will be held May 13-14, 2008, at Westfields Marriott Washington Dulles Hotel in Chantilly, Virginia, outside of Washington, D.C.

This year's theme, "Collaborating to Implement Change... NOW," will address essential steps needed to improve the aviation system and meet the demands of NextGen.

FAA ATO Chief Operating Officer Hank Krakowski will keynote the program that will also include Charlie Leader, the director of the Joint Planning and Development Office (JPDO) and Patrick Ky, the executive director of the European SESAR Joint Undertaking. A number of other industry leaders will discuss how collaboration is working to implement change, and how models and simulation are helping to make better decisions about operational improvements.

Attendees also will hear the latest information about major changes including ADS-B (automatic dependent-surveillance-broadcast), data communications, ERAM (en route automation modernization), RNP/RNAV (required navigation performance/area navigation) and recent EUROCAE initiatives.

The Symposium includes a networking reception on May 13th and two awards luncheons where RTCA will recognize the recipients of the William E. Jackson Award, the RTCA Achievement Award, and individuals who have gone the extra mile to make collaboration through RTCA a reality.
