Qantas to Use Boeing's Health Monitoring System on 747-400s and 787s
Qantas Airways will use Boeing's AHM (airplane health management) system on its 30 B-747-400s and future
65 B-787s to improve its management of unscheduled maintenance, and
automatically provide other data such as fuel burned.
Boeing says its
AHM gives airlines significant insight
into their aircraft's condition and
operation that can help identify problems and in some cases even allow them to
take action before a fault occurs. It also supports long-term fleet-reliability
programs, and provides fleet-wide information aggregated from other operators.
Beside Qantas, more than 20 Boeing operators use the technology, including more than 44 percent of the
world's combined 777 and 747-400 fleet. 03-31-2008. |
