Qantas Orders Teledyne Controls' Ground Link for A380s Qantas ordered Teledyne Controls' wireless quick access recorder (WQAR) for installation on its new A380s to automate the recording and transmission of its flight data. The Australian carrier has ordered twelve A380s from Airbus, with options for twelve more. Teledyne Controls' Wireless GroundLink records raw data during flight and then compresses, encrypts, and transmits them via cellular technology and the Internet to the airlines' or Teledyne's ground-based processing and analytical systems within 15 minutes after landing. 05-28-2006.
