PSA Airlines selects AeroData's Datalinked Performance Information
PSA Airlines, which flies
under the US Airways Express banner, will use AeroData's performance
information system to provide its crews with highly accurate takeoff,
landing and other data, including weight and balance, for its Bombardier
CRJ200s and 700s.
In the aircraft, pilots
make their required inputs (e.g. runway and environmental conditions) on
their ACARS (aircraft communications addressing and reporting system)
interface and seconds later see the computed results on the same system.
Dispatchers use typical Windows display interfaces on their workstations to
access the same operational databases. Since PSA's aircraft and flight
dispatching performance systems are fully integrated, duplicate data entries
are eliminated, and the joint responsibilities of captains and dispatchers
are ensured.
AeroData says it provides similar services to operators that use EFBs
(electronic flight bags) or only PDAs (personal digital assistants), and
will tailor its software applications to match each carrier's individual
requirements. In addition, AeroData offers ground-based weight & balance
and load planning software solutions.
PSA joins
AirTran which acquired the system last fall. Air Canada Jazz, Frontier, SkyWest and WestJet, also use the technology. 02-05-2006.
