Oman Chooses COMSOFT's Aeronautical Message Handling System
The Sultanate of Oman's Directorate General of Civil Aviation and Meteorology (DGCAM)
has contracted with COMSOFT to install its AMHS (aeronautical message handling
system) at the Seeb International Airport in Muscat. The DGCAM's decision
follows COMSOFT's completion of a similar project in Abu Dhabi.
COMSOFT's
AIDA-NG (aeronautical integrated data exchange agent-next generation), which is the main part of the new AMHS, has
been installed at a number of air control centers worldwide. In Muscat, the system will be complemented with COMSOFT's
CADAS-AIS, which is an end-user AFTN/AMHS (aeronautical fixed telecommunication network terminal/
ATN (aeronautical telecommunication network) message handling system) integrated
with an AIS (aeronautical information system). Although most of Oman's
neighboring countries still work with AFTN, aeronautical centers such as Abu
Dhabi, another COMSOFT customer, have already embarked on AMHS.
The Zawawi Trading Company, COMSOFT's representative in Oman, will assist in the AMHS implementation at Seeb.
