New Delhi's Indri Gandhi Airport Expands Its A-SMGCS
The Airports Authority of India is expanding its A-SMGCS (advanced - surface movement
guidance and control system) at New Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport
to provide coverage for a new terminal and runway project.
Gandhi's Sensis
A-SMGCS
processes data from multiple surveillance sources, including
MDS (multistatic dependent surveillance), X-band radar, and an ADS-B
(automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast) -based vehicle tracking system to
provide controllers with visible and audible alerts of potential runway
incursions. A-SMGCS has been operational at the airport since 2006.
The expansion will include additional Sensis MDS (multistatic dependent
surveillance) multilateration sensors and a second surface movement radar.
