NASA and CAFE Announce New GA Technology Competition
NASA and the CAFE Foundation have announced a new technology "pentaviathon"
competition to advance five general aviation technologies aimed at reducing fuel
consumption and noise, while increasing speed, safety and ease of use.
The new $300,000
competition, called "The General Aviation
Technology Challenge," will also include a new
Green Prize
meant to promote renewable
energy, and will expressly reward the efficient use of both bio-fuel and
electricity in transportation.
Registration for the competition officially opened on December 23, 2007. It will be conducted at
CAFE's Flight Test Center in Santa Rosa,
California, during August 2-10, 2008. 01-08-2008. |
