Midwest Airlines to Use Lockheed Martin Flight Planning System
Midwest Airlines will use flight planning technology from Lockheed Martin and
its teammate, Vienna-based Flugwerkzeuge Aviation Software.
Lockheed Martin, serving as the program's management lead, will integrate Flugwerkzeuge's
mfs:2 flight planning system, and
OPUS (operations user system) that manages NOTAMs (notices to airmen), into
Midwest's operations control center to help the Milwaukee-based airline design
optimal flight paths that incorporate variables such as upper air temperatures,
wind speed, aircraft performance, airspace restrictions, connection rules and
cost constraints. 02-11-2008. |
