Miami to Use Rannoch's Airport Management and Flight Tracking
Miami International has
joined other Florida airports at Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach,
Tallahassee, Sarasota and Orlando, to contract for Rannoch Corporation's
aircraft tracking and management services.
Rannoch's
AirScene combines a variety of aircraft tracking technologies including
ADS-B (automatic dependent surveillance - broadcast) and multilateration to
provide a multipurpose system suitable for a number of applications,
including monitoring noise and managing revenues derived from aircraft
movements.
The company has scaled up
operations in Florida and has four permanently-based technical staff
personnel available in three locations throughout the state to support what
it sees as a large and growing "non-federal" market for its monitoring
hardware and software technologies.
Rannoch is also
supporting several other aviation initiatives in Florida, including a
partnership with the state's Department of Aviation, which is introducing
new flight tracking and collision avoidance technologies at smaller general
aviation airports as part of its Small Aircraft Transportation System (SATS)
program. 12-13-2005.
