Mercury Computer Systems Introduces New SVS and EFB

Mercury Computer Systems introduced its expected SVS (synthetic vision system and EFB (electronic flight bag) platforms at the recent Sun'n Fun Fly-In gathering.

The essential features of Mercury's VistaNav CIS-2000 SVS and CIS-2200 class-2 EFB were first discussed on this Website in March.

According to information currently on Mercury's Website, its VistaNav SVS is a backup navigation system (not intended for primary navigation) that generates and displays synthetic 3D imagery on a portable EFB device such as a tablet PC.

The CIS-2000 is designed for mid-level general aviation aircraft and the CIS-2200 system is suitable for STC (supplemental type certificate) qualified installations on commercial aircraft, Mercury says.  Both systems include Mercury's built-in attitude reference system with WAAS (wide area augmentation system)-capable GPS, and VistaNav synthetic vision software.  04-22-2007.
