Max-Viz Gets STC for EVS on Cessna Citation 500s
The FAA has granted Max-Viz a STC (supplemental type certificate) for installation
of its EVS-1000 series EVS (enhanced vision system) on Cessna Citation 500s.
According to Max-Viz, this STC is the latest of a
"pool" of EVS installations that are currently flying on over 200
helicopters and corporate jets. And all
EVS-1000 series systems are compatible.
Next Generation EVS-1500
In
other news, the company says its next generation EVS-1500 features a dual
field-of-view that uses an optical zoom that allows the pilot to switch from
wide angle (53 degrees) to telephoto (30 degrees). It also has improved
electronics and image processing software.
Jim Tuttle, the president and
CEO of Max-Viz, says one can easily upgrade from the EVS-1000 to EVS-1500. "The
camera and power supply LRU's are identical in form, weight and power
consumption. Over 45 current STC's for our EVS-1000 are being modified to
accept the EVS-1500." 10-28-2007. |
