Lufthansa Now Using Electronic Route Charts
Lufthansa Systems says its project to switch Lufthansa over to its electronically produced navigation charts was completed at the end of December, four months after the first chart was delivered.
These charts make up Lufthansa Systems' Lido Route Manual, which is generated electronically from Lido's worldwide navigation database, and differ considerably from charts produced by CAD (computer-aided design) tools, according to the company. Perhaps most significantly, Lido's electronic en-route and terminal charts are customized to a user airline's specific policies, individual minima data and tables.
Except for Lufthansa Passage Airlines, the entire Lufthansa Group of Condor, Lufthansa Cargo and Lufthansa CityLine are now using the system. 01-21-2005. |
