Lufthansa CityLine Installs Teledyne Controls' Flight-Data Animation Tool

Lufthansa CityLine has completed installing Teledyne Controls' ground-based flight-data animation system, designed to enable the rapid visualization of complex flight scenarios, which can be used for FOQA (flight operations quality assurance), training and incident investigations.

CityLine's Vision installation, which is built upon the system installed on Lufthansa's mainline fleet in 2001, is configured to allow the data replay and animation of its entire fleet that includes CRJ 100s, 200s, 700s and 900s, along with Avro RJ85s.

Vision is Teledyne's third-generation Windows-based software application that was developed so operational experts can rapidly visualize the complex and interrelated actions that occur during a flight event.  Its algorithms generate flight paths, which are realistically depicted concurrently with aircraft instrumentation, airfield satellite imagery, and navigation data plots.  02-15-2007.
