London's Luton Selects Ultra Electronics' Common-Use Platform

London's Luton International has selected a common-use terminal workstation platform from Ultra Electronics Airport Systems for its passenger services.

A common-use platform permits the workstations and peripherals of an airport terminal to be shared by many airlines, with obvious cost benefits. Ultra Electronics' UltraCUSE software operates on industry-standard personal computers and LANs (local-area networks) to make this possible.

According to Ultra Electronics, the airport chose its system because its service already has been proven and its bid was "commercially competitive."

Ultra Electronics says its system has recently been installed at other airports in North and South America, Russia, China, and Europe.  12-11-2006.
