Landmark Installs Honeywell Primus Epic Avionics on Gulfstream III
Landmark Aviation says it has retrofitted a Honeywell
Primus Epic
integrated avionics system on a Gulfstream III that includes Honeywell's
Mark VII class-A TAWS (terrain awareness & warning system) and
RAAS (runway awareness & advisory system).
Gary Bosemer, Landmark's
avionics marketing director, said, "The Primus Epic system was integrated
into the Gulfstream III while retaining the legacy FMS (flight management
system) and Proline II navigation and communication equipment."
The retrofit, which was
completed at Landmark's Springfield, Illinois facility, allows a Gulfstream
III's flight data to be displayed on three large flat-panel liquid crystal
displays that consolidate primary flight information, weather, TCAS, and
TAWS functions. The pilot can control a number of functions with drop-down
menus, and its interactive navigation system allows simultaneous displays of
traffic, terrain and previewing of pre-selected approaches. Other features
include a flexible architecture and system design that provides weight, wire
and power savings, as well as fewer LRUs (line replaceable units).
Besides Springfield,
Landmark Aviation operates major MRO centers at Augusta, Georgia, Los
Angeles, Little Rock, and Houston. In addition, the company operates six MRO
shops at FBO (fixed base operator) facilities in the U.S. 02-15-2007. |
