Landmark Aviation Gets STC for Pro Line 21 IDS on Falcon 50s
Landmark Aviation
received a STC (supplemental type certificate) for its installation of
Rockwell Collins' IDS (integrated display system) on Dassault Falcon 50s.
The
Pro Line 21 IDS upgrade can be configured with three or four
8-inch-by-10-inch AMLCDs (active matrix liquid crystal displays) and
includes Rockwell Collins IFIS (integrated flight information system) that
enables the use of electronic charts, graphical weather and map overlays. Other installed options such as AHRS (attitude heading reference system) and
TCAS (traffic alert and collision avoidance system (TCAS) can be easily
added, according to Landmark.
The FAA certification was
completed by
Landmark Aviation's FAA DAS (designated alteration station)
and the Falcon 50
upgrade work will be performed at Landmark Aviation's maintenance, repair
and overhaul center at Springfield, Illinois.
In addition to IDS
upgrades, Landmark Aviation also offers a Rockwell Collins'
Pro Line 21 integrated avionics retrofit for the Falcon 50 that includes
a new autopilot and integrated FMS (flight management system). 12-20-2006. |
