L2 Consulting Services Awarded STC for Honeywell RAAS on B-757

The FAA granted L2 Consulting Services (L2) a STC (supplemental type certificate) for its Honeywell RAAS (runway awareness and advisory system) installation kit on B-757s, and is making it immediately available for owners and operators of 757-200s, 200PFs, 200CBs and 300s.

Honeywell's RAAS is a software upgrade hosted in its EGPWS (enhanced ground proximity warning system) that provides aural advisories to pilots when there is a likelihood of an inadvertent runway incursion, or other mistakes associated with runway accidents.  The system uses GPS location information coupled with an internal airport runway database to monitor the airplane's location and provide appropriate annunciations.

L2 say it's now the only company to hold such a STC for RAAS on both 757s and 767s.  This particular L-2 installation (ST10609SC) was accomplished using the Mark V EGPWS with software version -224-224.  02-19-2007.
