L2 Consulting Receives STC for B-767 Honeywell RAAS Installation The FAA granted L-2 Consulting Services an STC (supplemental type certificate) for the installation of the Honeywell's RAAS (runway awareness and advisory system) on all B-767 models. According to L-2's president, Mark Lebovitz, L-2 Consulting is currently the only company to hold an STC (ST10466SC) for a RAAS installation on B-767s, and is making its usage rights immediately available to owners and operators of all 200, 300, 300F, and 400ER models. RAAS is a software upgrade hosted in the Honeywell's EGPWS (enhanced ground proximity warning system) that uses GPS and an airport runway database to provide aural advisories to pilots regarding various runway situations, including potential incursions, to increase their situational awareness. 10-30-2005.
