Kuwait Airways to Use Lufthansa Systems' Route Planning System

Kuwait Airways will start calculating flight paths for its entire fleet with Lufthansa Systems' route planning system in mid 2005.

Lido's flight planning service, which is one component of Lufthansa Systems' Lido Operation Center, automatically calculates a user's routing and fuel requirements, but also offers a number of optimization possibilities such as minimum-cost or minimum-fuel-burn tracks, and the consideration of all aeronautical restrictions. The distribution of flight related data, like NOTAMs (notices to airmen) and weather briefings are included as well.

Kuwait Airways is now Lufthansa Systems' third customer for this service in the Middle East region, along with Emirates and Qatar Airways.  01-22-2005.
