Korean Air Renews Flight Communications Contract with ARINC
Korean Air renewed its
contract for operational voice and data flight communications with ARINC.
The Seoul-based airline
currently uses ARINC's
GLOBALink VHF (very high frequency), HF (high frequency), satellite (satcom)
and voice communication services. The new agreement extends these for three
more years.
GLOBALink/VHF customers
still primarily employ ACARS (aircraft communications addressing and
reporting system) technology that is used globally for air operational
control and, increasingly, for air traffic control. There are currently more
than 120 GLOBALink remote ground stations in operation throughout China,
East Asia, and Southeast Asia, according to ARINC. 03-31-2007. |
