Jeppesen and The Tablet Store to Offer Portable Electronic Navigation
Jeppesen and The Tablet Store will cooperatively offer turn-key packages that pre-install Jeppesen electronic navigation applications on a range of notebook computers provided by The Tablet Store. The package will use Jeppesen's JeppView, which combines electronic VFR and IFR charts with features, such as a moving map display, search and filter options, route planning, and trip-kit printing. It now also includes an improved text module with the first XML (extensible markup language)-based text that provides greater functionality and usability for GA and business aviation pilots, compared to previous PDF-based text pages, Jeppesen says. Pilots may choose between services that offer only VFR or IFR charts, or both. JeppView also interfaces seamlessly with Jeppesen's FliteStar flight planning application.
