Jeppesen and Honeywell Jointly Demonstrate RNP for Business Aircraft Jeppesen and Honeywell carried out a pilot RNP (required navigation performance) program at Morristown, New Jersey to gain further experience with RNP procedures and demonstrate their capabilities, particularly for business aircraft. Both companies have made moves to enter the RNP technology market, which is rapidly gaining prominence as a way to significantly increase efficiency for operators and capacity for ANSPs (air navigation service providers). Jeppesen recently announced that it would participate in an FAA pilot program that allows third-party vendors to develop RNP procedures in the U.S., and Honeywell said it will help business jet operators utilize RNP procedures by validating databases and offering consulting services. 09-29-2007. |
