Jeppesen Standardizing Runway Incursion "Hot Spot" Depictions

Jeppesen is in the process of depicting so-called runway-incursion hot spots in a standardized magenta color on pertinent airport diagrams to increase pilot awareness of areas that are prone to cause confusion.

Hot spots often exist where there are many intersecting taxiways and runways, complex ramp areas, or both.  Jeppesen depicts these areas with a magenta circle, and designates them numerically (e.g. HS1, HS2 and HS3).

Jeppesen will add the magenta depiction to its paper charts as they are revised; its electronic charts have displayed the locations in red for some time, but will be switched to magenta all at once sometime this summer (2007).  06-01-2007.
