Jamaica Selects Ubitech's Message Handling for Aeronautical Information
The Jamaica
Civil Aviation Authority (JCAA) will migrate its ATS (air
traffic services) messaging operations from the AFTN
(aeronautical fixed telecommunication network) to Ubitech's AMHS
(aeronautical telecommunication network message handling
system).
JCAA's
installation will be the first implementation of an AMHS in the
Caribbean and Ubitech's fourth in the region. The project's
completion also will make JCAA one of the world's first CAAs
(civil aviation authorities) to be fully compliant with ICAO
SARPs (standards and recommended practices) for aeronautical
messaging.
Ubitech will
provide JCAA with its latest generation, native X.400-based
Ubimex 6 AMHS that is designed specifically for
communication over the ATN (aeronautical telecommunication
network), and is 100% compatible with AFTN, as well as others
such as, the CIDIN (common ICAO interchange network), the NADIN
(national airspace data interchange network) and SITA's.
JCAA's AMHS
purchase is part of a larger procurement project that also will
include Ubitech's
InfoStore AIS (aeronautical information system),
InformAIR
pilot briefing interface,
BillSys billing application, and
SkySource eAIP ("easy" aeronautical information publication)
system.
Ubitech
believes that once these products are commissioned, JCAA will
operate one of the most advanced integrated ATS/AIS systems in
the world. 12-05-2006. |
